Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply.”(Gen 1:28)
Be means to breathe, exist, live, subsist,
abide, continue, endure, hold on, hold up, keep (on), kick, last, lead,
persist, rule, run on, survive; move; flourish, prosper, thrive.
In the classic Shakespearean play Hamlet, the character posed the question, “to be or not to be?” The
character was considering if he should continue to endure in spite of
the trials and tribulation that life throws or should he throw in the
towel and give up on life. Beloved now is the time to be persistent
regardless of challenges and set backs.
God has commanded us to “Be!”, so let us be wise, be fruitful, be strong, and be faithful. Not allowing anyone to belittle, beguile, or beset us.
