“Forget the former
things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah
43:18-19)
The people of Israel cried again and said, “Who will give us
meat to eat? We remember all the fish we could eat free in Egypt, and all the
fruit and vegetables and spices. But now our strength is gone. There is nothing
at all to look at except this bread from heaven.”(Num 11:4-6)
The children of Israel were focused the food they ate while
they were in Egypt; they could not enjoy the manna and the provision of God. When
we are focused on the past we cannot enjoy the blessings that are right in
front of us; we will not be open to embrace the new thing that God desires to
accomplish in our lives.
Beloved, let us forget the former things and not dwell on
the past because God is doing a new thing.
